Our regular open afternoons are popular with families and entrance is free. Train rides are available on both our ground level and raised tracks. Tickets are 1.50 each or 5 for five. You can keep unused tickets for travel on a later date. Our outdoor "garden" railways will be running, as will our OO gauge railway in the clubhouse. Light refreshments are available. The profits from the sale of railway tickets on our Charity Day are used to support a local charity. In recent years this has been Disability Challengers, who are our neighbours in Stoke Park.

Our major event this year will be the Stoke Park Railway Gala Weekend in July. We have miniature steam train rides, garden railway (16mm and Gauge 1) and 4mm railway layouts in operation, visiting model traction engines, two model boating pools, a display of model engineering exhibits, arts & crafts and woodworking displays. We also have trade stands selling tools, materials and finished models. We offer a more extensive range of food than on our open afternoons and will also have a beer tent.

All our public events are held at our Stoke Park site. We don't offer pre-booking; just turn up on the day.

Dogs are permitted at our events provided that they are kept on a short lead at all times and that you remove any mess. We will provide drinking water if required.

You might also want information for disabled visitors.

Private Parties

The Stoke Park Railway at GMES is a popular venue for children's birthday parties and family or other celebrations. We provide exclusive use of the trains on our ground level miniature passenger-carrying railway for up to three hours and we also offer the use of the clubhouse and grounds for your own catering and other activities. We usually try to run two trains, one of which will be hauled by a steam locomotive (subject to availability).

Party days are strictly limited to about ten Saturdays from March to October and are generally decided towards the end of the previous year. The cost for 2020 is 280, and a 50% deposit is payable on booking.
